Search resumes Wednesday for second drowning victim

SABINE PASS — The search for a possible second body whom officials beleive could have perished along with his father in the coastal waters near the jetties has resumed, Port Arthur Police Sgt. Scott Gaspard, said.
A Jefferson County helicopter and boaters from other rescue agencies are searching for the son of a Beaumont man pulled from Texas Bayou Tuesday morning.
Authorities believe both the man and his son were fishing.
The known deceased, a black man appearing to be middle-aged, was pulled from the marshy waters after a father and son who were kayaking saw a body floating in the water about 10 a.m. Tuesday and called 911, Troy Broussard, Port Arthur fire captain, said.
Emergency workers conducted a search for the second body late Tuesday afternoon, but did not find anything.
Fishing rods were found near an empty truck discovered near the body, as well as food items indicating more than one person.
