Lionel E. Gunner, 78, of Port Arthur, TX passed away Friday, August 7, 2015 at his residence.  Lionel was born August 27, 1936 to the late Lionel and Julia (Dwight) Gunner in Patterson, LA.
Lionel married Jessie Lee Mallet in 1959.  He was a devoted father of six children.  He was a retired veteran of the Marine and Navy for over 20 years of service.  Lionel is a 1954 graduate of Lincoln High School.

Gorrer of Port Arthur, TX and Danny Gorrer of Austin, TX; 2 daughters, Diane and Sylvia Gorrer of Port Arthur, TX; 7 brothers Roy Gunner of San Diego, CA, Harry Gunner, Sr, Anthony Gunner, Donald Gunner, Charles Gunner, Sr. of Port Arthur, TX, Gary Gunner of Katy, TX and Michael Gunner of Red Oak, TX; 2 sisters, Josie Gunner-Bell and Brenda Gunner-Jacquet of Port Arthur; TX.
Services will be Saturday, August 15, 2015. Viewing from 12-2:00 p.m. at East Mount Olive Baptist Church, 800 Thomas. Blvd., Port Arthur, TX with the Rev. Dr. Lee E. Field, Jr. officiating.  Arrangements under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
