A 15-year-old Port Arthur teen was involved in a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon at the intersection of 15^th Street and Eighth Avenue.

Port Arthur police received a call that a major accident had occurred at 4:14 p.m.

According to a press statement issued by the Port Arthur Department, the teen had been riding a small dirt bike on 15^th Street and failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign at Eighth Avenue.

The dirt bike was struck by a Honda Accord going northbound on Eighth Avenue.

The driver of the Honda swerved to try and miss the dirt bike and, and also struck an unoccupied parked pick up trucks. The Honda’s driver was alone in the vehicle and was not injured.

The 15-year-old was transported to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital by EMS and was believed to be in critical condition.
