The Nederland Independent School District canceled its annual city-wide pep rally Tuesday due to heavy rain.

The pep rally was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. at Bulldog Stadium Tuesday, but Stuart Kieschnick, NISD assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction, said the heavy rain throughout the rain Tuesday — and potential for even more rain Tuesday night — made the event infeasible.

Families are encouraged to use caution driving along wet roads Tuesday night and make plans to show their spirit at the first Nederland High School varsity football game of the season this Friday at Bulldog Stadium.
