John Walter, Jr., of Port Arthur, TX was called home October 5, 2015 while at home with his loving granddaughter.  He was born July 28, 1938 in Bastrop, Louisiana and was a former resident of Arkansas.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Taylor and Sue Walter; three sons, John Allen Walter, John Walter II and Anthony Bell; special granddaughter, Christle Smith; and a host of grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015 at New Light Missionary Baptist Church, 948 5th Street, Port Arthur, TX with a viewing from 12 noon until service time.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
