Jimmy Washington, Jr., 69, of Los Angeles, CA, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at USC Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. He was born on September 22, 1946 in Port Arthur, TX to Mrs. Bernetha Jones Nickles and the late Jimmy Washington, Sr.  Jimmy had a passion for photography and wherever he traveled, many pictures were taken.  He was a 1965 graduate of Lincoln High School here in Port Arthur and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Washington, Sr., and sister, Rebecca Ann.  He is survived by his beloved mother, Bernetha Jones Nickles; daughter, Gina Owens (John) of Hacienda, CA, son, Ryan Hill (Natalie) Altadena, CA; sister Carolyn Washington Wright; brothers, Carl Diles (Willie Mae), Ervin Washington of Port Arthur, TX; two grandchildren; Jalyn and Tyson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing at 9:00 a.m. until service time, as Rock Island Missionary Baptist Church, 549 West 11th Street, Port Arthur, TX. Rev. Ransom E. Howard, Sr., Pastor and Rev. Dr. Richard Ayers of Silsbee, TX, officiating.
