  • Beaumont Rocktoberfest, 5:30 p.m. gates open Friday, Oct. 30, at the Jefferson Theatre, 345 Fannin St. in Beaumont. Live music will begin outside at 6 p.m. with MegaFauna and inside at 9 p.m. with Cranford Hollow. Following the bands, the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” will play on the big screen inside the historic Jefferson Theatre. The event will feature music, food and craft beer.   • The Bob Bowers Port Arthur Civic Center will be hosting its semi-annual Gigantic Public Garage Sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31. Over 40 individual and small home based businesses will have booths set up offering clothes, appliances, furniture and much more. The hours of the sale are 8:00 am until 1:00 p.m. Admission is $1 with children under 12. The Civic Center’s Concession stand will be open for this event.
  • A ‘Refuse to be a Victim’ seminar is set for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Courtyard Café, 4321 Lincoln Ave., Groves. Charity Cavazos, owner of CNC, will present the seminar. There will also be a representative from the Family Crisis center to share information on how a person can receive help if needed.

College students can attend the seminar at no cost.

  • Mid-Jefferson County Aggie Moms Club invites area high school juniors and seniors and parents to its 6:30 p.m Nov. 3, meeting at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3515 Helena Ave., in the Christian Life Center. This meeting will serve as an introduction to Texas A&M University, with Josette Gonzales, a Regional Advisor from the A&M Houston Prospective Student Center.

  • Golden Triangle Chapter Cajun French Music Association will sell barbecue chicken dinners as a fundraiser beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 6, at the American Legion Hall, 922 Nederland Ave. in Nederland.
