PN-G falls to LC-M

LITTLE CYPRESS — The Port Neches-Groves Indians came up a point short Tuesday in the team’s season opener against the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears.
LC-M slipped past the Indians 44-43 behind 11 points from Isiah Reagins.
The Bears (0-1) led 12-8 after the first period and took a 17-15 lead into the break.
PN-G outscored the Bears 10-9 in the third to trail 26-25 heading to the fourth. Both teams scored 18 points in the final eight minutes and the Bears captured the victory.
Ram Polavarapu led the Indians with 15 points while Ryan Abel scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
PN-G plays its first home game Friday at 7:30 p.m. against Barbers Hill.
