Our loving daddy, Cleveland Jean “Slim” Savoy, 91, of Port Arthur went to meet our Heavenly Father on November 25, 2015.

Dad was born January 3, 1924 to the late Desponie and Leta Savoy in Arnaudville, Louisiana.  Dad worked at B.F. Goodrich for 38 years as a carpenter and enjoyed 32 fulfilling years of retirement life.  Dad was a man of many talents which included building approximately 70 houses from the ground up.  He was an avid duck and deer hunter and grew beautiful vegetables and roses in his garden.  The most precious part of Dad’s life was his love for his family and always having something good cooked like his famous gumbo.

Dad was preceded in death by his parents, the love of his life of over 58 years, Genevieve Savoy; his only son, Kenneth Wayne Savoy; sisters, Irene Gaithe; Lorena Fruge and son in law, Curtis Breaux.

Daddy is survived by his daughters, Pat Breaux; Cindy Merren and her husband Gilbert; Connie Abshire and her husband John; Vickie Kilchrist and her husband Bruce; grandsons, Dwayne Breaux and his wife Lisa; Steven Breaux and his wife Nikki; Jeremy Abshire and his wife Connie; Julian Abshire and his wife Lauren; Grant Kilchrist; great grandchildren, Alex, Lauren, Kaylee, Bailey, Carson, Brett, Rachel, Amberly and Keeghan.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Robert Bowling, Melanie Bell, Total Home Health and most importantly Billy and Mary of Heart to Heart Hospice for all the love and compassion that was shown to our Daddy in his final stage of a wonderful and blessed life.

In lieu of flowers, please make contribution to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Little Flower Catholic Church of Port Acres or a church or organization of your choice.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Sunday, November 29, 2015, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, Port Arthur.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 30, 2015 at Little Flower Catholic Church, Port Acres with entombment to follow at Oak Bluff Cemetery, Port Neches.
