Kenneth Clell Elender

Kenneth Clell Elender, 94, of Bridge City, Texas passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
He was born on November 25, 1921 to Bessie Olene Moss Elender and Clell Joseph Elender in Port Arthur, Texas. Kenneth served in the Army Air Corp as a P47 Fighter Pilot in the Pacific during World War II. He retired from Gulf Oil as an electrician after 38 years of service. Kenneth lived in Port Arthur until his retirement, where they moved to Jasper for 25 years. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Jasper.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Curtis Leo Elender and his loving wife, Bettye Lee Elender.
He is survived by his daughter, Trudy Pellerin and husband, Milton of Bridge City, His son, Larry Elender and wife, Carolyn of Houston, five grandchildren, Suzanne Hernandez, Clint Elender, Brandon Pellerin, Wayne Pellerin, and Travis Pellerin along with 10 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Doris Ray of Paradise, Texas along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 9, 2016 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
