Houston linebacker and former Port Arthur Memorial standout Elandon Roberts has made the American Team roster for the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, to be held Jan. 23 at California State University Dominguez Hills.

ESPN2 will televise the game live, with kickoff set for 5 p.m. Central. The American team is coached by Mike Holmgren, with Mike Martz leading the National Team.

Roberts had his best collegiate season in helping Houston win the Peach Bowl on Dec. 31. Starting all 13 games, the Morgan State transfer led the Cougars with 142 tackles including six sacks, forced two fumbles and made an interception. His 18 tackles in a come-from-behind win against Memphis is a career high.
