Mary Vern Granger

Mary Vern Granger, 83, of Port Arthur, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016. She was born on August 7, 1932, in Kaplan, Louisiana to Hilda and Paul LeBlanc.
Mary was an active member of St. Charles Catholic Church where she was involved in Altar Society and Women Guild. She enjoyed cooking her favorite Cajun dishes and enjoyed playing Pokeno, Bunko, Scrabble, Bingo, and working puzzles. Mary will be remembered as a loving mom and MeMaw, who loved her God, family, and friends. She retired from TSO in Port Arthur.
Survivors include her daughters, Angela Baker and her husband, Ray, of Beaumont; Susan Trevino and her husband, Tony, of Nederland; Tina Vennebush of Spring; Belinda Torres and her husband, Gilbert, of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and Janis Harrington and her husband, Kenny, of Missouri City; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and brother, Ray LeBlanc and his wife, Maureen, of Wildwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of nearly forty years, J.D. Granger; and brother, Norris LeBlanc.
A gathering of Mrs. Granger’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 211 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, with her interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Granger’s memory to St. Charles Altar Society, 130 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, Texas 77627-7326.
