On Monday February 15, 2016 our beloved mother, sister, and friend JoAnn Yvette Breaux Benjamin accepted God’s invitation to dance with him to her glory. JoAnn had many titles through out her life: Para-Legal, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Lay Servant, Sunday School Teacher, and Group Counselor, but the titles that made her the happiest were Mother, Grandmother, GeeGee, Sister and Friend.
JoAnn was predeceased by her parents Rev. Clarence Sr. and Elodie Pillette Breaux. Left to keep her memories alive and cherished are her three daughters: Wynette Mitchell, Tracy Benjamin, Tanya Freguson and her son Elwin D. Benjamin; 2 sisters Yvonne Green, Gwendolyn Loftin (Kenneth), 2 brothers Rev. Clarence Breaux, Jr. and Corey Simien (Yolanda). 5 grandsons Wendell Mitchell, II (Samantha), Jamaal Benjamin, Jonathan Mitchell, Tommy Lee and Greggory Jackson; 8 great grandkids and a host of family and friends including her lifetime besties Linda Jenefor, Verdia Robertson Verma Stafford, and Marie Stevenson.
Her final arrangements directed by Hannah Funeral Services are Friday, February 19 Family Visitation 2:00 pm in the Chapel and Saturday, February 20 – Public Visitation 9:00 – 11:00 am with Home going Service starting at 11:00 am. We will mourn and miss her but rejoice in knowing she is at peace and pain free in our Fathers arms.
