Fomer PA employee arrested for theft

Another arrest among city of Port Arthur employees or former employee has occurred, bringing the total to eight who have been charged with public corruption offenses in recent months.

Danny Bowden Sr., a former water department employee assigned to the Water Distribution Department, was formally charged Thursday by the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office with three third degree felony counts of theft by public servant.

Bowden has other cases, which are still being investigated at this time, but as of yet there are no formal charges filed.

Metal believed to have been stolen by Bowden Sr., was sold to a Metal Scrap yard in Beaumont. The metal was the city’s property. Bowdens’s bond has been set at $12,000.

Bowden’s arrest is the latest in an ongoing criminal investigation into public integrity crimes within the city of Port Arthur.

Anyone with information on crimes involving public integrity issues of public integrity crimes in the city are urged to call the Jefferson County District Attorney’s office and speak to an investigator in the Public Integrity Division.

Bowden’s arrest is the latest in a string of public integrity charges leveled against city employees.
