Carnival Des Cajuns celebrated Saturday in PA

A day of dancing, good music, flavorful food and family entertainment is on tap in Port Arthur Saturday during the Second Annual Carnival Des Cajuns.

Scheduled from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the Carl A. Parker Multipurpose Center, 1800 Lakeshore Drive, the all-day event is pays homage to Southeast Texas’ Cajun heritage during this foot-tappin’, hand-clappin’ celebration.

Headlining this year’s entertainment is none other than Geno Delafose and French Rockin’ Boogie. Geno will bring his eclectic blend of traditional Cajun and Creole music fused with country and western known as nouveau zydeco.

Other acts include: Jamie Bergeron & the Kickin’ Cajuns, Steve Riley and Mamou Playboys.

Spicy Cajun food will also be available for sampling including crawfish etouffee from Knights of Columbus of Groves and Big Boi’s boiled crawfish.

Tickets will be $5 and children 12 and younger will be admitted free.
