Bulldogs lose, to play Vidor today to break tie

LUMBERTON — The District 22-5A schedule is not completely over yet for the Nederland Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs finished in a three-way tie for third after a 2-0 loss to Lumberton Friday coupled with a 10-0 Port Neches-Groves victory.
Nederland (12-12, 8-6) now host Vidor (8-6 in district) in a play-in game for the fourth spot at 2 p.m. today. The Raiders (8-6 in district) won a coin flip late Friday to secure the third place seed heading into next week’s playoffs.
Chase Kemp sat down the first 16 Raiders batters he faced Friday. The 17th batter singled in the sixth and later came in to score off a double. The Raiders tacked on a second run in the inning.
Kemp finished the night giving up two runs on three hits with four strikeouts and no walks.
Kody Kolb went 2 for 3 and both Zack Friesz and Caine Williams were 1 for 3.
