Groves Police responded to the following calls from May 4 through May 10

Wednesday, May 4

  • A 30-year-old man was arrested for outstanding Justice of the Peace warrants after a traffic stop in the 5500 block of 25th Street.
  • A 23-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a prohibited substance after a traffic stop in the 3200 block of Woodlawn.
  • A domestic disturbance was reported in the 4500 block of Lawndale.
  • A suspicious person/vehicle was reported in the 6200 block of Monroe.

Thursday, May 5

  • Theft was reported in the 4300 block of Lincoln Avenue.
  • Theft was reported in the 3000 block of Canal.
  • A 28-year-old woman was arrested for outstanding Justice of the Peace warrants after a traffic stop at Franklin and 39th Street.

Friday, May 6

  • A juvenile was arrested for assault in the 5000 block of 32nd Street.
  • A 54-year-old man was arrested for possession of marijuana after a traffic stop in the 6100 block of Van Buren.
  • A counterfeit $20 bill was passed at a business in the 3300 block of Cleveland.

Saturday, May 7

  • A 32-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Main.
  • A 26-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Vincent Drive.
  • A red Polaris ATV was stolen from the 5900 block of Monroe. The ignition on a second ATV on the property had been damaged.
  • A 19-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 5500 block of Fadhli.
  • Burglary of a vehicle was reported in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.
  • A 47-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication in the 6000 block of Monroe.
  • A 54-year-old man was arrested for assault by threat in the 6800 block of Terrell.
  • A 52-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication in the 6200 block of Verde after officers discovered him laying in a ditch.
  • A criminal trespass warning notice was issued in the 4600 block of Twin City Highway.
  • A 28-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 4000 block of McKinley.

Sunday, May 8

  • A 34-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.
  • A disturbance was reported in the 5000 block of Center Street.

Monday, May 9

  • Criminal mischief was reported in the 6000 block of Gulfway Drive after a person was seen breaking the door to the business and then left the scene.
  • An assault was reported in the 6200 block of Gulfway Drive.

Tuesday, May 10

  • A person paid $750 to a contractor for some work in the 5100 block of Grant. The contractor never returned to do the work.
  • Criminal mischief was reported in the 6800 block of Manchester when weed killer was sprayed on the victim’s grass.
  • A 25-year-old man was arrested on outstanding warrants after a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Royal.
