Hazel Mouton Deslatte

Hazel Mouton Deslatte, 82, of Port Neches, TX passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016. Hazel was born October 1, 1933 in Theall, Louisiana to the late Freddy and Annabelle Thibodeaux Mouton. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, was on the Altar Society and very much involved with charitable events for the church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Hazel was a part of Crew Aurora during Mardi Gras and was a lifetime member of the Sertoma Club. She was an excellent seamstress, loved her Cajun music and Cajun food. Hazel also enjoyed playing bridge, dominos, dancing and traveling. She was known as a sociable, classy and stylish lady.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilton “Goat” Deslatte and a sister, Loyce Gant. She is survived by her children, Connie Moshier and husband Mickey, Stacy Swann and husband Charles, Jr.; and Brad Deslatte and wife Julie; grandchildren, Megan Christopher, Keegan Swann, Kelsey Moshier, Alex Moshier and Paul Deslatte; great grandchildren, Kylan, Kohen and Mason Christopher; and Jacelynn Barnes. She also leaves behind sisters, Sandy Brent and husband Ralph, Fredna LeBlanc, Glenda Venable, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other friends and relatives.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Life Celebration will follow at 1:00 p.m., with Father Kevin Badeaux to officiate the service.
