A 49-year-old man was arrested for burglary after being found inside Lamar State College Port Arthur’s White Haven house Tuesday night.

Police were alerted to the alarm and got to the historic home just after college personnel around 10 p.m. Police said the burglar had broken a window and was in the process of taking items from the kitchen. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Jefferson County Jail for burglary of a habitation.
