Injury reported at Gulf Copper

A person suffered two broken legs after an incident at Gulf Copper on Monday.
Emergency personnel were called to Gulf Copper’s Procter Street Extension yard shortly after 11 a.m.
According to police scanner information, the person may have been injured when a drive shaft or some sort of pipe fell on him.
A member of Port Arthur Fire Department said they responded to the scene and the man was taken to Christus Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment.
A representative of Gulf Copper said they are not releasing any statements.
