Man who died outside Walmart ID’d

Preliminary autopsy results are pending for a man who was found unresponsive outside Walmart on Monday night.
Jefferson County Pct. 7 Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett identified the man as Steven Ryan Sanders, 43, of Port Neches.
The preliminary autopsy results are pending toxicology.
Port Arthur Police were called to the store, 4999 Twin City Hwy., around 10:30 p.m. Aug. 1 and found the man on the ground by his vehicle which was parked near the automotive area and started CPR. Port Arthur Fire and Acadian EMS continued life saving measures when they arrived but the man did not respond, according to a press release from PAPD.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said there were no visible signs of foul play.
