Prep Roundup: Titans lose first game of season

LEAGUE CITY — The Port Arthur Memorial Titans suffered their first loss of the season as Cypress Falls knocked off the Titans 66-47 Friday at the Clear Creek Tournament.
Memorial hung around through the first three periods before Falls outscored the Titans 26-15 in the game’s final eight minutes.
Darion Chatman led Memorial with 16 points, followed by 10 from Reao Keller and nine from Thailan Wesley.
Falls was up 12-9 after the first period and took a 27-23 lead into the break. Falls start to make its push in the third and had a 40-32 advantage heading into the fourth period.
Memorial takes on Clear Springs at 1:30 p.m. today. at Clear Lake High School.
SABINE PASS VARSITY 79, SABINE PASS FRESHMEN 12
SABINE PASS — The Sabine Pass freshmen had the chance of their lives Friday but could not quite get the job done.
The freshman team took on the Sharks’ varsity squad. It was the varsity team who won 79-12.
On Thursday, Jamyus Jones and Daniel Sam combined for 56 points in a 63-47 win over Boys Harbor. Jones finished with 30 points, converted 4 of 4 free throws and made 13 of 21 from the field (8 of 10 in the second half). Sam had 26 points and was 11 of 19 from the floor, 6 of 8 in the second half.
