Judy Gail Snowden Sam

Judy Gail Snowden Sam, 65, of Port Arthur, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017.   She was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur.  Judy earned her cosmetology license in 1981 and later opened her own beauty salon “House of Pride”.  She was a longtime employee of Beall’s Department Store. 

Judy is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Sam, Sr.; her parents Nathan and Rose Getwood Snowden; sister, Marion Fairley; nephews, Nathan Snowden, Jaymon Mitchell and Ayden Grogan and a very close cousin Clifford Landry, Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Albert Sam Jr. and Trina Sam Brown both of Port Arthur, TX and Thomasene Sam Burch (Stevie) of Phenix City, AL; three sisters, Wyetta Snowden, Walda Jean Snowden and Beverly Snowden; 11 grandchildren, Jacoby, Tiauna, Darryl, Chasity, D’Andre, Silktashia, Amber, Precious Rose, Naytisha, Nathan and Victor; 13 great-grandchildren; three honorary and devoted loved ones Jamesetta Chisem, Rosemary Harris and Edgar McLean.

Judy’s memory will live on through her nieces, nephews, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Mount Sinai Baptist Church with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
