JANICE TODORA ON BOWLING: Valero League bowlers take top honors at The Max

The Max Bowl lady bowlers are just arriving home from a weekend in Shreveport, La.
This weekend saw around 27 of the ladies participate in the Louisiana Women’s State Championships. From what I am being told, up next in April will be the Knights of Columbus State Tournament followed by the Texas State Women’s Championships. The ladies have a lot of upcoming travel for a sport they are all passionate about. Good luck and safe travels.
Bowling in the Saturday morning Stars of Tomorrow, Cain Shaw woke up in his second game and pounded the lanes with games of 164, 224 and 226. Cain finished the morning with a 614 set.
Wednesday night’s Fun Bowlers had the top senior female bowler of the week. Julie Crane hammered the lanes with games of 244, 233, and 174 for a nice 651 set.
The Monday night Valero League had the rest of this week’s top bowlers. The top Senior male bowler, Kirwin Melo, shot games of 277, 189, and 243 for a impressive 709 series. Top female bowler Sami Jo Williams ignited the lanes to the tune of 256, 212, 257 for a hot 725 set. Finally this week’s top bowler, Dean Wersig, cranked out games of 234, 242, and 279 to tame the lanes with a sweet 755 set.
I expect to hear about the dates for the upcoming City Championships. Once I get those dates I will post in the column. So until next week bowlers good luck at the lanes.
