Two Port Arthur police officers are on leave pending the results of an administrative investigation.
Risa Carpenter, the city’s spokesperson, could give no details on the investigation.
“I can’t speak on anything when they’re under investigation,” Carpenter said.
She added that she could not say how long the investigation would last or whether this investigation was related to an earlier investigation in February that led to several officers being placed on leave, including Deputy Chief John Owens and Deputy Chief Raymond Clark. Clark and Sgt. Scott Gaspard retired early after that and neither man has commented publicly about the investigation. At the end of that investigation, other officers, including Sgt. Kris Boneau and Owens were reinstated, though Owens was re-assigned.
