Victor Joseph Borne, Jr., 90, of Port Arthur, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. Victor was born March 22, 1927, in Port Arthur to the late Victor Joseph Borne, Sr., and Susette East Borne. Mr. Borne was an outdoorsman, who loved working in his garden and fishing. Victor was a perfectionist; he was also firm, but with a heart of gold. He served in the United States Navy in World War II and retired from KCS after 39 years of service.
Victor was preceded in death by his sisters, Evelyn Hebert, Lorena McMahan and Beatrice Courtney. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Ruby Borne; daughter, Vickie Cleveland; son, Victor Wayne Borne; step-daughters, Belinda Cox and Jennifer Britt; step-sons, John Allen Aucoin and Eddie Aucoin. Mr. Borne also leaves behind grandchildren Rachel Conner, Sandra Wilkinson and Jonathan Johnson; great-grandchildren, McKenzie Johnson, Chad Willis and Bella Johnson; 1 great-great grandchild; 4 nieces; 2 nephews and numerous other relatives and friends to cherish his memories.
A special thank you to step-daughter, Belinda Cox and his nephew, Percy Thibodeaux for the love and care they provided to Mr. Borne.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, June 8, 2017, form 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home, Port Arthur. A Celebration of Mr. Borne’s life will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 9, 2017, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memory Garden’s Cemetery in Nederland.
