Funeral services for Deja “Penny” L. Ellis, 36, of Port Arthur, TX will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 23, 2017 at New Hope Baptist Church at 549 Gulfway Dr., Port Arthur, TX. Burial will follow at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. Deja was born December 8, 1980 to the late Elliot and Anna Ellis. She was raised in Sherman and was a graduate of Sherman High School class of 1999. She worked in food service and retail for many years. Penny entered into eternal life Saturday, September 16th, 2017. She is survived by her children, Slaya Ellis, Brie’yon Chappell, N’Jiyah Gibbs, Tor’Reiyon Collins, all of Port Arthur, TX; siblings, Alvina Ricketts of Los Angeles, CA, Rodney Ricketts and Livia Ricketts-Douglas of Sherman, TX, and DeAna Ricketts of Port Arthur along with many other extended family members and friends.
