BEAUMONT — An elderly woman is in stable condition after being shot in the head and her car stolen in the parking lot of Best Years Center in Beaumont on Wednesday.

Beaumont Police responded to the center, 780 S. Fourth St., around 11:40 a.m. in reference to a shooting victim, according to a press release from the Beaumont Police Department.

Preliminary investigation indicted the victim was shot in the back parking lot of the center near her vehicle.

After the shooting, the suspect stole her vehicle and fled.

The suspect is described as a black man with a dark complexion, slender, medium height and was wearing a white T-shirt.

Police are still looking for the suspect and the vehicle and are asking the public to be on the lookout for a light bronze 2010 Honda CR-V bearing Texas license plate HYF-5576.

If anyone sees the vehicle they are asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
