Remember to vote on November 7

On Nov. 7, please find time to go to the voting booth.

Though there will be no presidential candidates or congressmen or even city council members to elect, the issues are still important. Of course, for people in Water District 10, the Sabine Pass School district area and the Port Neches-Groves school district area there will be local issues to decide including local taxes, sewer repairs and school board members elect.

For the rest of us, there are a series of amendments to our state constitution to consider. These dry issues may not provoke the same passion as a political race, but the issues are important. Among other things, two of the amendments concern local property taxes, two concern raffles and another concerns home equity loans. Again, no fireworks here, but these everyday items affect most of us in one way or another.
