We would like to express their deepest condolences to Mike Morvant and his family. Mike bowls on Monday and Thursday nights. Mike’s wife Emily deceased this past week unexpectedly. Our prayers are with you, Mike.

Also we wish good luck to former long time Max Bowl employee Michelle Powell. Michelle was a strong supporter of this bowling column and saw to it that we were supplied with each week’s stat sheets. We will figure out who is going to assume that roll once we talk with management. Remember, no stat sheets, no column.

Monday night’s Valero league had all kinds of excitement as Chuck Mitchell plowed the lanes in his first games on his way to a perfect 300. Mike had games of 238 and 204 for a Max Bowl leading 742 series.

Wednesday night’s Fun Bowlers is showing up in this column for the first time this year. It all has to do with Chayla Merritt.

Bowling on a 121 average Chayla hammered the lanes with games of 194, 210 and 248 for a 652 series. Great bowling, Chayla. By the way this series led all the women at The Max this week.

Thursday night’s Energy Country Ford/Allstate league produced this week’s top two Senior bowlers. Alice Barnes had games of 202, 214 and 211 for a nice 627 set. Don Pastor had games 208, 244 and 254 for a sweet 706 set.

Saturday morning’s Stars of Tomorrow was a free for all. First Cain Shaw got on a roll and kept it going for three games as he put together games of 223, 236 and 231 for a 690 set. This led all the youth bowlers this week.

Close behind was Brandon Bertrand. Brandon started with a nice 288 followed by a 183 and a 176 for a 247 set.

Finally Blaine Seymour put together an impressive set himself. Blaine abused the lanes to the tune of 223, 230 and 188 for an impressive 641 set.
