Calvin Joseph Breaux, Sr.

Calvin Joseph Breaux, Sr., 83, of Port Acres, died Sunday, November 26, 2017. He was born on March 22, 1934, to Elida and Dona Dieu Breaux in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, and had been a resident of the Port Acres area since the 1950s.

Calvin was a United States National Guard veteran.  He worked at Texaco as a Supervisor for more than 40 years, before retiring to travel the country with his beloved wife and dear friends.  Much of his time was spent with family; working alongside, attending school and sports functions and making cherished memories on vacations.  He was an adoring husband, father and grandfather.  He had a huge heart, contagious smile, passion for life and Cajun music.  He will be remembered for the pride and love he shared with all of those he cherished.

Survivors include his daughter, Gail Garrett and her husband, Clyde of Port Acres; sons, Jeff Breaux and Greg Breaux, both of Port Acres, Dale Breaux of Beaumont, and C.J. Breaux of Nederland; grandchildren, Derrick Breaux, Angelique Julian, Aaron Breaux, Kristen Breaux, Tiffanie Cruz, Cory Garrett, Haley Evans, and Trevor Breaux; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Peyton, Audrey, Cosette, Giovanna, Jean-Paul, Slade, Madi, Cole, Aynslie, and Channing; his pride and joy, Nila; brother, Melvin Breaux; and sisters, Juanita Standley and Elsie Domingue.

A gathering of Mr. Breaux’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 1, 2017, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 2, 2017, at St. Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church, 6412 Garnet Avenue, Port Arthur, with his interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.

The family would like to thank all of those who provided Mr. Breaux with such loving care over the last year.  We appreciate all of you more than words can ever express.
