Mrs. Glenda Carole Meaux, 77, of Nederland, Texas, went home to the Lord on Monday, December 18th, 2017, in Pearland, Texas.

She was born October 3, 1940 in Fort Worth, Texas.  After graduating from R. L. Paschal High School, she met and married Glen, soon to be discharged from the Air Force, and moved to Port Arthur.  She enjoyed cooking shows, traveling, playing games and cards, and shopping.  She was an avid football and baseball fan.

She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, where she volunteered for several committees and fundraising activities.  She was active with the United Methodist Women (UMW) and the Council on Ministries.  She was also a longtime member of the Pilot Club, and served as a counselor for the United Board of Missions.

She was a selfless person who never met a stranger and loved her family dearly.  Her family loved her, and will miss her very much.  She is survived by her husband Glen, her two daughters, Kim Salter and her husband Glenn, and Lori Bertrand and her husband Brian, and her grandson Michael Wong and his wife Lindsey.  She is preceded in death by her father John Echols Sr., her mother Annie Price Echols, and her brother John Echols Jr.

A memorial service will be conducted at 10:00am on Saturday, December 30th, at the First United Methodist Church in Nederland.  The family will have a private gathering immediately following the service.

To further the search for a cure for cancer, she donated her body to the University of Texas McGovern Medical School.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Glenda’s name be made to:
