Nicholas Gerard Palmarozzi Jr. passed away on March 18th of 2018 at the age of 67. The mere mention of his name will always bring a smile to the faces of those who loved him. His keen sense of humor guided him through a life full of love and laughter that spread to all those around him. He was born on December 20, 1950, in Kirksville, Missouri and grew up on the Gulf Coast of South East Texas.
He graduated from Bishop Byrne High School, where he was All-District in football and golf, Lamar University, and South Texas College of Law. He served as Jefferson County Treasurer (while commuting to Houston to complete law school) and remained active in the Democratic Party. He practiced law at Provost Umphrey Law Firm.
He was devoted to his faith and the ACTS Retreat, a parish-based event which offers parishioners an opportunity to experience the love of Jesus Christ. He told his cousin, Rose, that if God wants you nobody on this earth can save you.
One of his greatest loves was attending sporting and live music events with his children, including The Masters, The Kentucky Derby, and Texas A&M football games.
In 2017, Nick left his beloved hometown of Jefferson County and moved to the Dallas area to begin the next chapter of his life as grandpa to his two adoring grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Nicholas Palmarozzi, D.O. and Judy Palmarozzi, and brother, John Palmarozzi. He is survived by his son and daughter; Nicholas Palmarozzi, III and Kelli Palmarozzi, both practicing attorneys; Nick’s wife, Candace Palmarozzi and their children Charlotte “Charli” Palmarozzi and Nicholas “Nico” Palmarozzi, IV; his sisters, Jane Ritchey and husband Terry Ritchey; Susan Haley and husband Steven Haley, M.D.; Elizabeth Palmarozzi, D.O.; his sister-in-law, Paula Plummer, M.D.; his nieces and nephews: Christopher Palmarozzi and Rachel Palmarozzi; Nicholas Palmarozzi, Lauren Palmarozzi, Bryan Ritchey, D.D.S. and Michelle Ritchey; Kristen Bellanger and Terry Bellanger; Brent Ritchey and Alaina Ritchey; Holly Haley, Kaitlin Palmarozzi and John Palmarozzi, as well as numerous grand nieces and nephews and many cousins that he adored.
He lived a robust life and will be remembered for the joy and laughter he brought to all of us.
