Enola Dupuis McGown

Enola Dupuis McGown, 85, of Port Neches, Texas passed from here to be with the Lord forever on Monday, May 7, 2018.

Enola was born October 23, 1932 in Plaucheville, Louisiana to Hattrie LaBure and Laura Raballias LaBure.  She was a resident of Port Neches for 68 years and a retired Custodian at Taft Elementary with 26 years of service.  Enola was a member of Bethel Methodist Church in Port Neches.  She freely cleaned the church every week to serve her Lord.  She helped with VBS and served at youth camp.  She had a blast doing it all.  She was also a   volunteer at Renaissance Hospital in Groves.  She loved God and her family with a passion, also her friends, gardening, and painting.

As of recent years, she loved camping, fishing, and playing hand and foot with the ones she loved.  She was also known at church and in the neighborhood as MawMaw.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Reverend Tim Hicke officiating and Reverend Curtis Morton assisting. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park.

Visitation for family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the funeral home.

Enola was preceded in death by her first husband, Gossen Dupuis in August of 1993, they were married over 40 years.  In 2000, she married Art McGown, they met while volunteering at the hospital and were married for almost 17 years before his passing in 2017. She is also preceded in death by her beloved sister-in-law, Elia Dugas and beloved son-in-law, Johnny Johnson.

Surviving relatives include her daughters, Sundra Stockholm and husband Ronnie of Kountze, Judy Thomas and husband Tommy of Mauriceville, Barbara Murphy and husband Lonnie of Lumberton,  Connie Bourque and husband Johnny of Savannah, Lisa Daigle and husband Allen of Port Neches, sons, Kenneth Dupuis of Port Neches, Wayne Dupuis and wife Kristin of Fannett, Carl Dupuis of Groves; sister, Diona Sewell of Groves; sister-in-law, Bertha Meche of Port Neches; brothers, Harlan LaBure of Port Acres, Kirth LaBure of Groves; 24 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; 2 beloved daughters and sons-in-law from her marriage to Art; Linda and Pat Brinkley of Nederland, and Brenda and Jimmy Noone of Nederland;  many loved nieces, nephews and their children; and wonderful caretakers, Novella Foster and Dorothy Salsberry.

Enola’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers:  Thomas, Jeff, Lonnie, Kenneth Ray, Alex, Aaron Ray, Matthew, Michael, Gavin, Major, Kane, and Nash.  Honorary pallbearers: Sam, Jett, Ollie, and Tice, and A.J.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southeast Texas Food Bank or Devon in care of Hank Hargraves.
