Beaumont police are seeking witnesses to a late Thursday shooting that left a teenager dead.

Police responded to Sunlight Manor, 2950 S. Eighth St., at 10:09 p.m. There, they found a gunshot victim and tried to render aid, but shortly after, Beaumont EMS pronounced him dead.

Police said the victim is Gariyon Coleman, 19, of Beaumont.

Investigators on Friday were seeking information from possible witnesses to this homicide. They asked that anyone who was in the area of the Sunlight Manor Apartment Complex from 9-11 p.m. Thursday and saw anything unusual to call police at 409-832-1234.
