Drug probe, bust land 2 in jail

Two suspects were arrested in Beaumont over the weekend for a variety of drug- and weapons-related charges.
The Jefferson County Narcotics Task Force and the Sheriff’s SWAT Team arrested James Pruzek, 50, and Rhonda Bryan, 53, after executing a search warrant at 7064 Hillebrandt Road on Saturday morning.
In an issued statement, the Sheriff’s Office said they had been investigating possible sales of methamphetamine inside the residence as well as information that stolen property was inside the residence. The SWAT Team secured the residence and the occupants.
Detectives found a large amount of methamphetamine in a toilet and three loaded handguns and one rifle inside the residence. They also recovered two stolen motorcycles, a stolen utility trailer, a stolen four-wheeler and a stolen welding machine. Serial numbers that had been removed from a number of items as well. All the stolen items and items with removed serial numbers were secured by the Auto Theft Task Force.
Pruzek and Bryan were transported to the Jefferson County Correctional facility. Pruzek was booked in for possession of controlled substance, tampering with evidence and possession of firearm by a felon. His bond was set at a total of $125,000.
Bryan was booked for possession of controlled substance. Her bond was set at $25,000.
A total of 6.37 ounces of crystal methamphetamine and 2 lbs. of liquid methamphetamine were seized.
The investigation was generated from concerned citizens making complaints and reporting suspicious activity, the statement said.
