2 sent to burn unit after Trinity Avenue house fire

Two people were transported to a burn unit by helicopter after a house fire in the 1100 block of Trinity on Thursday.
Port Arthur Fire Chief Larry Richard said the medical helicopter landed in the parking lot of the former Market Basket on Gulfway Drive and Jefferson Drive.
Numerous emergency medical personnel were on scene shortly after 2 p.m. as firefighters battled the blaze in the summer heat.
The attached garage of the home was destroyed and fire was still seen in spots on the roof some time before 3 p.m.
No further information was available as of Thursday afternoon.
