Kelso Peskin and Jocelyn Hanrath were named the first Southland Conference offensive player and goalkeepers of the week for women’s soccer in 2018.
Peskin, a senior from Cape Town, South Africa, scored three goals in wins over Grambling State and the University of Houston. She is tied for the Southland lead for goals on the season, and she’s achieved that feat taking seven shot attempts so far.
Hanrath, a sophomore from Salt Lake City, scored shutouts against both opponents in her NCAA debut. She combined for 12 saves, one of which came on a penalty kick, and that is the most in the conference. She also assisted on an outlet pass to Peskin.
Lamar won nine weekly Southland honors last season.
McNeese State sophomore Emma Roccaforte, of Nederland, earned honorable mention this week after recording a shutout against Prairie View and holding TCU scoreless until the 61st minute in a 1-0 loss in Fort Worth.
