A man sought by law enforcement on warrants was found hiding inside of a clothes dryer on Monday.
Port Arthur Police and federal partners had received information on Darrell Martin, 44, whom they had been searching for for about two weeks, Port Arthur Police Det. Mike Hebert said. The man was found at an address on West 15th Street.
“When they entered the house one of the officers went into the laundry room and nothing seemed out of the ordinary,” Hebert said. “Until he opened the door of the dryer. There were clothes in the dryer and he decided to take a few towels out when he saw the suspect inside the dryer. He was taken into custody without incident.”
Martin was arrested on a parole warrant, two felony theft warrants and a felony evading arrest warrant.
This isn’t the first time police found a suspect in an odd area. A few weeks ago officers went to a home looking for a suspect and the individual fell through the ceiling, he added.
