Estelle “MawMaw” Richard, 64 of Port Arthur, went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2019, surrounded by her family.

She was born on October 27, 1954 to her parents Newton Robbins and Lena Romero Robbins in Groves, Texas. She was the first child to be born at the former Doctor’s Hospital in Groves, Texas. Estelle was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur, Texas. She was a member of Central Baptist Church Port Arthur for 26 years where she served as the GA Director for over 20 years. She loved working with her daughter Deidra, embroidering and sewing childrens’ clothes. Sewing, cooking her amazing cinnamon candy and peanut brittle, and arts and crafts were her most treasured hobbies.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Samuel H. and Estelle Newcomb Robbins, Raoul and Annie Romero; Parents Newton and Lena Romero Robbins; Brothers Glynn Robbins and Delbert “Bubba” Robbins, Brother in Law Wendell Chandler, and Sister in Law Elizabeth Robbins.

She is survived by her three children, son Jeremy Richard and girlfriend Christie Hollyfield, of Nederland, Texas; daughters Deidra Lemonis and husband Joseph of Groves, Texas and Diana Crutchfield and husband Chadd of Port Arthur, Texas; her handsome grandsons Brayden Melancon and Jace Harley of Groves, Texas; Jaxin Crutchfield of Port Arthur, Texas; and her beautiful granddaughter Ava Grace Lemonis of Groves, Texas; brothers Phillip Robbins and wife Julia of Schertz, Texas and Richard Robbins and wife Charlotte of Groves, Texas; sister Lynette Chandler of Orange, Texas as well as a beautiful group of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Estelle was a big sports fan.  She especially loved to root on the San Antonio Spurs.  She loved watching Jace and Jaxin play football and basketball, and attending Brayden’s band concerts.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 25th, from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Grammier Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur, Texas.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 26th, at 10:00 A.M. at Friendship Baptist Church in Groves, Texas with Bro. Phil Sigman officiating.  Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
