Betty P. Cichowski, age 88, Port Arthur, died, Monday, January 28, 2019, in Beaumont. Betty attended First Baptist Church, Port Arthur, Texas where she was a Sunday School teacher, Training Union member and she was active in the Vacation Bible Study.

She attended the University of Alabama, Lamar University and Sam Houston State University earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education and Elementary School Counselling/Diagnostician.  She continued her education post Master’s degree as well.

She taught and counselled at Port Arthur and Nederland Independent School Districts and was an Elementary School counselor at the Dependent Schools for the Department of Defense at Lajes Air Force Base, Azores; Yongsan Army Post, Seoul, Korea; and Bad Kissingen, Germany.

She is survived by son Steve Cichowski and spouse Cathy, daughter Amy Cichowski, daughter-in-law Pam Cichowski, grandson Sean Cichowski and his spouse Kenyon, great grandchild Michael, Granddaughter Kaitlyn Youst and spouse Wade, great granddaughter Kennedy and other relatives residing in Alabama.

Funeral Service are scheduled for Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 3:30PM IN the chapel of Grammier – Oberle Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 3:00 until the service hour.
