Joe “Habanero Joe” Rogers, 66, of Groves, Texas passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019.
He was born November 11, 1952 in Port Arthur, Texas to Lenwood Rudolph “Buck” Rogers and Betty Jo Rains Rogers.
Joe was a resident of Groves, Texas for 23 years and retired from Exxon Mobil as an Instrumentation Mechanic and Pipefitter after 25 years of service. He was an amazing father, brother, son, Grampa Joe, and friend to many. He cherished the family of friends he formed through his love of fast cars, motorcycles, live-music and good times.
Joe is preceded in death by his father, Buck Rogers and mother, Betty Rogers.
Joe is survived by four daughters, Eisha Killian and husband Greg of Beaumont, Sara Marchand and husband Justice of Nederland, Alison Nutt and husband Donald of Groves, and Brooke Rogers and fiancé Travis Droddy of Nederland; son, Nicholas Rogers of Groves; longtime girlfriend, Jan Comeaux of Groves; step mother, Charlotte Rogers of Colmesneil; sister, Patricia Fox and husband Gary of Beauxart Gardens; six grandchildren, Tristan Killian, Taylor Nutt, Lilian Nutt, Justice Marchand, Parker Marchand, and Noam Droddy; niece, Amanda Ravey and nephew, Philip Fox.
A visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, February 7, 2019 beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 8th at 6PM at the American Legion Post 7 (3750 Memorial Blvd. in Port Arthur, TX).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the 501(c)(3) local non-profit organization: No Stone Left Un-Turned (2935 Westmont Dr., Beaumont TX 77706).
