Deacon Edgar Wise, Sr. was born March 24, 1915 to the parents of Reverend Glence and Permella Carpenter Wise in Jeanerette, Louisiana. On March 12, 2019 Deacon Wise transitioned to his Heavenly reward.   He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Celeste Wise.  From their loving union they had nine children:  six sons and three daughters.  Edgar Wise was a devoted, God fearing man who set a life-long example of a Christ-centered life. He was a deacon and member of 1st Sixth Street Baptist Church for over 50 years who exponentially gave to his church family his time, talents and treasure.  He retired from Gulf oil after 39 years of loyal service.

A celebration of the life of Deacon Edgar Wise, Sr. will begin with a wake on Friday March 22, 2019 at Hannah Funeral Home, Inc from 5:30pm to 8pm.   Funeral services will begin at 10 am at 1st Sixth Street Baptist Church, with Pastor Kalan Gardner, Sr. Officiant and Eulogist. Visitation 9am until service time.  Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Services entrusted to Hannah Funeral Home, Inc.
