Recent Clarendon College standout Ellis Jefferson has signed with Lamar, the university announced Thursday.

Jefferson is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound guard from San Antonio who prepped at Brandeis High School. In 29 games this past season, Jefferson shot 50 percent from the floor (44.9 percent from three-point range) and 75 percent in free throws. He averaged 15.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game.

Jefferson looks to fill a void left by graduating Nick Garth, who is the Cardinals’ all-time leader in 3-point shots made.
