Jeanne Bizot DeCourt

Jeanne Bizot DeCourt, 90, of Port Arthur passed away on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Medical Center of Southeast Texas.
Jeanne was born on February 28, 1929 in Wichita, Kansas to her parents Allie Watson Bizot and Walter Daniel Bizot, Sr.; she has lived in the Port Arthur and Groves area since 1935. She attended Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Port Neches. Jeanne in her younger years volunteered at Bob Hope Hughen School and Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. One of her cherished memory was the plaque that she received for making Boy Scouts Gumbo during Cavoilcade. Jeanne enjoyed knitting and she loved spending time with her family, who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James M. DeCourt, her brother, Walter Daniel Bizot Jr., her twin sister, Dorothy Sue Walden and her granddaughter, Kristin Rushing.
Jeanne is survived by her children, Ken DeCourt and his wife, Deena of Greenboro, NC, Denise Cluelow and her husband, Gary of Groves, TX, her grandchildren, Tammy (Scott) Danks, Jennifer (Paul) Vickery, Michael DeCourt, Caryn (Blake) Nichols, Kathryn (Sean) Laberer and Coryn DeCourt. She is also survived by her five great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. A 10 AM funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 in Thompson Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Chambers. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
