Police: Nederland business owner shoots former employee during dispute

NEDERLAND — Police are investigating a shooting that took place between a business owner and ex-employee in the 3000 block of North Highway 69 on Friday.
According to police, a former employee of A One Box and Tank Wash confronted the store owner around 5:30 p.m. Friday.
According to Nederland Police Chief Gary Porter, the two men got into an altercation before the store owner shot the former employee in the shoulder.
Porter said the man who was shot drove himself to a medical center before he was transferred to St. Elizabeth Hospital with what police believe is a non-life-threatening injury.
No charges have been filed and police are still investigating what led to the shooting.
