Helen “Tastee” May-Stephenson passed away, June 22, 2019 at Southeast Texas Medical Center of Port Arthur, Texas.  She was a resident of Port Arthur, Texas for 79 years, and a graduate of Lincoln High School “Bumblebees” Class of 1958.  Helen attended Texas Southern University and later became a supervisor of the Dietary Department at St. Mary’s Hospital in Port Arthur, Texas.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband Larry Stephenson Sr.; her parents, Percy Sr. and Beulah May; two sisters; Lucille Robinson, Barbara Jerry; nine brothers; Earl May, James May, Cleveland May, Leon D. May, Andrew May, Irvin May, Percy May Jr., Paul May Sr., Russell May Sr.

Survivors include: daughter, Samantha Muller (John); two sons; Mr. Larry Stephenson Jr. and Anthony Stephenson, Sr. (Nicole); her grandkids; Desmond Stephenson, Margeaux Muller,  Rhaheem Stephenson, Megan Stephenson, Larry Stephenson Jr., Mel O’Brien Stephenson, Taizhane Holmes-Stephenson, Inzia Stephenson, Trinity Stephenson, Javin Stephenson, Kali Stephenson, Anthony Stephenson Jr., Angel Swallow-Stephenson, Amanda Swallow-Stephenson; 21 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Joubert; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, 2019 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 821 Freeman Avenue, Port Arthur, TX with visitation from 9 a.m. until service time.  Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
