Tropical Depression Imelda is slowly moving north across the Houston area.
Rainfall from this system will continue through Thursday. An additional 4 to 10 inches is expected across southeast Texas, two to six inches across western Louisiana and lower amounts east of there.
Forecasters say to double these forecast numbers to estimate how much rainfall could fall in isolated places.
Jefferson, Tyler, Jasper, Hardin, and Orange counties have the highest risk for flash flooding through Thursday, although western Louisiana has a risk for flash flooding as well.
Motorists should be alert for flooded roads during periods of heavy rain, especially at night.
In addition, tides are continuing to run 1 to 2 feet above normal, so coastal flooding is still expected during high tide through Thursday.
