Seniors in Burt Lamson’s engineering design class work on projects Tuesday at the Memorial High School Career and Technical Education Center.
Nam Hoang makes a custom-designed grit guard. The grit guard sits at the bottom of a bucket of water and soap and allows grit and dirt picked up from a cloth to sink through the guard’s holes to the bottom, keeping the cloth from picking the dirt back up when it’s used again. Hoang is going to open his own auto detailing business and hopes his grit guard will keep dirt from scratching vehicles. (Brad Robichaux/The News)
