Helen Delores Meyer

Helen Delores Meyer, 89, of Sugar Land, Texas, formerly of Groves passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Sugar Land Health Care Center.
Helen was born on June 8, 1930 in Port Arthur, Texas to parents Eva Bodin Douglas and Jessie Douglas.
She had lived in the Groves area for 60 plus years, just recently moving to Sugar Land.
Helen was an active member of Immaculate Conception-St. Peter Catholic Church, where she was on the Altar Society for many years.
She enjoyed sewing, needle pointing, square dancing in her younger years and worked with Meals on Wheels for 23 years.
Helen was a loving person who will be dearly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Floyd Douglas and Warren Douglas.
Helen is survived by her husband, John Ray Meyer of Sugar Land, TX, her sons, Steven Meyer and his wife, Vicki of Sugar Land TX, Lawrence Wayne Meyer of Baytown, TX, her daughter, Sandra Lawless and her husband, Michael of Pueblo, CO, her sister, Bernice Faulknor of Texarkana.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Tiffany Boudreaux, Courtney Willey, Jessica Maddox, Shaun Meyer, her great grandchildren, Colin, Nathan, Max, Alex and Justin Michael.
A 2:00 PM funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home 5200 W. Parkway Street Groves, TX 77619, with gathering of family and friends from 1:00 PM until service time. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
